Richards Crews completed his education through the Yonkers Public Schools system; graduated from Lincoln High School, went on to Westchester Community College and graduated from EOC in Yonkers as a Computer Service Technician.   

He now works at the YWCA of Yonkers and has been there for about 20 years, where he serves as the Office Manager.

He is currently the Vice President of the Yonkers African American Heritage Committee, where he has been a member  off and on since he was 15 years old.  He is also a member of the NAACP -Yonkers Branch, Yonkers PTA, James H. Farrell Lodge #34, Three Square Chapter #23, PHMA and a few other organizations he puts forth his efforts.

He is most proud of his children and grandchildren of which he loves the most.
